Dolly Dim Sum - Divine Bite-Sized Treasures

For today, I want to introduce you to Dolly Dim Sum. As its name suggests, Dolly Dim Sum is a restaurant that specializes in Dim Sum. Steamed or fried, both are scrumptious and worth trying. Apart from Dim Sum, Dolly Dim Sum also offers a wide range of Chinese dishes including Cheong Fun (Rice rolls), Congee, Vegetable dishes, Rice and Noodles. They have desserts too :)

FYI, Dolly Dim Sum is Pork-free so you can eat to your hearts' content.

Dolly Dim Sum NU Sentral

Dolly Dim Sum is the place where you can have your Dim Sum fix at any time every day. However, it can be crowded during peak hours (lunchtime and dinnertime). You will be required to wait for awhile before you will shown to your table. But hey, it's worth the wait :) While you are waiting for your table, you will be given an order sheet where you will select your meals. You can also refer menu at the restaurant (ask the helpful staff) or you can check out the menu beforehand via online at their website. :)

This is the order sheet. 

Simply write the quantity of the dishes that you want and give it to the staff when you want to place your order.

Okay, so let's check out the FOOD!!!

I've been to Dolly Dim Sum twice and I usually order the same dishes twice because I've fallen in love with them. So, here's what I've ordered so far.

 Egg Custard Bun

This is one of the specialty dishes for Dolly Dim Sum. 

Warm, pillow-soft steamed buns with salted egg yolk caramel filling. Sweet and salty at the same time, these egg yolk-filled buns will take your taste buds to another whole new level.

 Crystal Prawn Dumpling

Juicy prawns and tangy chives wrapped in dumpling skin and steamed until translucent. 

The combination of prawns and chives is simple but packs a punch. One of my must-haves :)

 Siew Mai

Tender chicken and prawns Siew Mai steamed with mushroom. 

This classic Siew Mai is a definite must-have on my list. :)

 Dolly Mozza Roll

One of Dolly Dim Sum's specialties.

Beancurd skin rolls stuffed with prawns and mozzarella and deep-fried to golden perfection. 

The beancurd skin is crunchy and the mozzarella cheese melts with gooey cheesy goodness. The prawns add extra sweetness to this rich-flavoured dish. I would recommend you to eat this with chili sauce as this dish might be too rich for some people. :)

 Thai-style Prawn Parcel

Prawns wrapped in beancurd skin parcels, steamed and served in a sweet and spicy Thai chili sauce with julienne red chilies, onions and cucumber as a garnish. These prawn parcels may be small but they are bursting with flavour. The julienne vegetables adds extra crunch to the dish.

 Salad Prawn Dumpling

Prawn and Chives wrapped in dumpling skin and deep-fried to golden perfection. Be careful as you bite into this yummy morsel as the filling is piping hot. These dumplings are served with cool lemon-mayonnaise dip. A superb combination.

Spicy Szechuan Dumpling

Steamed dumplings filled with prawns, chicken and chives drizzled in a spicy and tangy sauce. I really love this dish because of the fragrant tangy sauce which has a hint of coriander in it and it cuts away the richness from other dishes too. I even use the sauce for dipping other dumplings too. Hehehe

Overall I enjoyed my dining experience here at Dolly Dim Sum. The food is scrumptious. The pricing is slightly pricey but it's really worth it. Quite reasonable though :)

The staffs are friendly and helpful. The service is efficient. Love the rustic decor :)

Dolly Dim Sum is an awesome place for you to savor scrumptious and authentic dim sum with your dim sum-loving friends and family. Do note that Dolly Dim Sum will be crowded during lunchtime and dinnertime.

Me'Nate Steak Hub - Steak-Lovers' Paradise

Sorry for the late update as I was really busy with my practicum.
But now, I AM FINALLY FREE~!!! MUAHAHAHA~!!!

Time to chill out and doing nothing :)

For this entry, I would like to talk about Me'Nate Steak Hub. Me'Nate Steak Hub is a restaurant that specializes in Steaks. The owner, Mr. Mustaffa Othman himself had worked as a master butcher and chef at Buckingham Palace during his stay in United Kingdom. Using his acquired knowledge on butchery, cookery and passion on meats, he decided to open his own steak house. After enduring many hardships, Me'Nate Steak Hub was born. For those who are wondering, Me'Nate means animal in Kelantanese slang (Kelantan is a state in Peninsular Malaysia). The first outlet opened in Ampang way back in 2009 and now Me'Nate Steak Hub has opened up more outlets across Kuala Lumpur (including Me'Nate Steak Hub Setapak) and Selangor due to the overwhelming positive responses from customers (ahem... Steak-lovers).

The restaurant is decorated in simple modern decor that is accentuated with wood and metal elements. Blackboards laden with artistic doodles hung on the walls. Even the walls also have interesting artwork on them.

At Me'Nate Steak Hub, you can choose your steaks from these range of meats including the Black Angus, the Lamb, the Grass-fed, the Grain-fed or Me'Nate Steak Hub's signature Wagyu Beef. Apart from the type of meats, you can even choose your preferred cut of meats; Tenderloin, Ribeye, Striploin, etc... just to name a few. Don't know what to choose? You can look at the menu and ask the friendly staff for recommendations.

How to choose your steaks?

1.  Look at the menu to see the available selections. You can ask the friendly staff for the assistance.
2. Go to the freezers to select your steaks (they are vacuum-packed to ensure freshness). The prices are displayed on the steaks. (Prices are according to the weight of the steaks). Choose your steaks.
3. Give your steak selections to the staff on duty. The staff will ask about your preferred cooking temperature for your steak (Rare, Medium-Rare, Medium, Medium-Well and Well Done) and preferred sauce (Mushroom, Black Pepper, Garlic-Rosemary)
4. Return back to your seats as the staff will serve your steaks when they are ready.
5. BONUS: Those who ordered steaks for their main course are entitled for FREE and REFILLABLE drinks. Refer to the menu for the drinks that are available.

I first heard about Me'Nate Steak Hub from my brother Hafiz as he visited Me'Nate Steak Hub Ampang. He did manage to try the Wagyu Beef. OMG~ I'm so jealous. However, I did manage to dine at Me'Nate Steak Hub Setapak with my whole family for my belated birthday dinner. Unfortunately, I did not try the Wagyu Beef because it was sold out (Wagyu Beef is a bestseller at Me'Nate Steak Hub). But I settled down for the Angus Striploin and it was SO GOOD!

All steaks are grilled to perfection according to your preferences.

Apart from Me'Nate Steak Hub's signature steaks, you can check out the appetizers, sausages, and awesome side dishes. Not a fan of steaks? You can opt for pastas, seafood or chicken dishes. If you still have room in your tummy after all of those scrumptious main course meals, you can end off your meal with yummy desserts :)

 Mushroom Soup with Garlic Bread

It's pretty good for a starter. I love mushroom soups and I think that this is okay :)

 Angus Striploin with Mushroom Sauce

Angus Striploin grilled to a perfect medium with two sides; coleslaw with ranch and mustard dressing and mashed potatoes. The striploin is juicy and melts in the mouth and loved the perfectly-seasoned mashed potatoes. I wished that I could have more of these. Will definitely order this again :)

Overall, I did enjoy my dining experience here at Me'Nate Steak Hub. The food is totally divine (ahem... those scrumptious steaks), affordable and reasonably priced. I REALLY LOVE the free and refillable DRINKS. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The service is great. Love the simplistic decor. Me'Nate Steak Hub is an awesome place for lunch and dinner, family gatherings and also for special events such as birthdays and anniversaries. As for the outlets, Me'Nate Steak Hub already has outlets across Kuala Lumpur and Selangor (and they are still expanding their restaurant franchise).
