Aroii Thai Boat Noodle - Affordable & Yummy Thai Street-Eats

Greetings, everyone!
I hope that all of you are doing great and in great health wherever you are. 😊
Me? I'm doing good but kinda exhausted lately. 😅

This is me after work... everyday 😅

For this entry, I would like to talk about an eatery that specializes in Thai street food; Aroii Thai Boat Noodle.

Aroii Thai Boat Noodle, NU Sentral

Located on LG-33 at NU Sentral Mall, this eatery is totally living up its name by serving up a scrumptious variety of Thai street delights including boat noodles, rice dishes and snacks. For those who are on a budget but wanted to indulge in an appetizing array of Thai street eats, fret not as Aroii Thai is SUPER budget-friendly. Everything on the menu is priced at RM2.09 - mains, appetizers, snacks, desserts and drinks - yep, you got that right. EVERYTHING.

Aroii Thai is easy to find if you're coming in from Brickfields since this eatery is outside the building and facing the road. However, if you're coming from inside the building or from KL Sentral, you'll need to go to the LG floor and go towards Sam Groceria. When you're in front of the groceria, take a left turn and walk straight until you reach outside. Aroii Thai will be on your left.

Aroii Thai - Front View

Upon arriving at Aroii Thai, you'll notice a spacious seating area in front of the restaurant. Not a fan eating in an open-air setting? You can choose to dine inside the restaurant where there are two areas; main area (lower deck) and the upper deck for some privacy. This restaurant is cosy with large glass windows and bright lighting. Wooden furniture and decorative paintings make you feel as if you're in a humble yet cosy restaurant in Thailand. Even the cashier counter has a roof from coconut palm fronds, adding a traditional touch to the restaurant.

Now, let's move on to the FUN part... FOOD!

As mentioned before, Aroii Thai specializes in scrumptious and affordable Thai street-eats including noodles, rice dishes, light-bites, appetizers and desserts and all of these are served inside cutesy bowls. Whether you want to savour every dish on the menu or just want to eat and repeat your favourite dish - here at Aroii Thai, you can do any way your fancy. Afraid of lacking table space for your other dishes? You can even stack the bowls after you're done. Great for that perfect shot. 😘👍📷

Look at those selections 😍

So, what have I ordered?

A LOT! 😂👍
I was starving 😂 so I ended up ordering a lot of items from the menu; appetizer, main course, a dessert and a drink. Condiments such as pickled chilies, chili powder and chili sauce are provided on every table if you want to add something extra for your dishes.

1. Vegetarian Spicy Spring Roll

These crispy and crunchy spring rolls are packed with peppery veggie filling of cabbage and carrots. I can literally taste the veggies in every bite. The sweet Thai chili sauce adds a sweet and spicy kick.

2. Traditional Pandan Chicken

Succulent chicken pieces marinated in aromatic herbs and spices and wrapped in fragrant pandan leaf and fried. The chicken is perfectly cooked and I could taste the savoury notes of the marinade.
The sweet and spicy chili sauce really lifts the savouriness of this dish.
I loved this dish 😍👍 but I wish that this has 3 pieces instead of 2 😂

3. Stir-fried Kangkong

Fresh kangkong stir-fried nicely with onions, garlic, chilies and cili api (bird's eye chili).
This dish is a bit spicy 🔥 from the cili api but it tasted good, just the way I love it 💓

4. Green Papaya Salad (Som Tam)

Shredded green papaya, shredded carrots, long beans, bits of fresh tomatoes and cili api (bird's eye chili) in a special dressing with baby prawns topped with crushed peanuts. I love this dish because of the papaya's freshness and the zesty dressing. This is a bit spicy due to the cili api 🔥

5. Chicken Glass Noodle Soup

Soft and chewy noodles 🍜 with shredded chicken meat, chicken ball, veggies and topped with fried garlic. The clear broth is surprisingly flavourful and it is suitable for kids as it is not spicy at all 😊👍

6. Classic Pad Thai

Flat rice noodles fried in chili paste and seasoning with beansprouts and egg. Garnished with crushed peanuts. Despite its reddish appearance, it tasted good and it is not too spicy. 👍

7. Tom Yum Glass Noodle Soup

Soft and chewy noodles 🍜 in a tomyum broth topped with prawn and beansprouts. The broth is slightly sour and it is not too spicy. Unfortunately, this is my least favourite dish because the broth is kinda too light for my liking. 😕 Could've been better.

8. Thai Green Curry Chicken with Rice

Succulent chicken cooked in an aromatic green curry served with baby eggplant and rice 🍛. This may look simple but it is very delicious. The green curry is creamy and flavourful as I could taste the herbs and spices in it. The chicken is nicely cooked but not too dry. It is not spicy at all but it may be a bit creamy and rich for others depending on their preferences. Since this is my first time trying a green curry dish, I would say this is a great dish 😍👍

9. Mango Sticky Rice

The sticky rice (glutinous rice) is creamy from the coconut milk but it is not too overly sweet. Mango slices added a sweet and sour tropical twist to this dessert. It is quite refreshing and one of the perfect ways to end a lovely Thai meal. 💓

10. Lemongrass Drink

Unique and fragrant, this refreshing drink has its own fans since not many people consider lemongrass as a drinking option but lemongrass is believed to have certain health benefits. This is my personal favourite as it helps to cut out the richness from the dishes that I had eaten. 😊👍

Overall, my dining experience at Aroii Thai Boat Noodle is great.
The food and drinks are delicious and very affordably-priced.
The staffs are efficient and helpful and the restaurant is clean and cosy.
The service is good and fast despite being packed with customers.
Aroii Thai is a great place to hang out for yummy, budget-friendly food with friends, dearly beloved and family or just for a me-time outing.

Thank you Aroii Thai for the great experience. 👍
Will definitely visit you again someday 😊💓
